Educating our Children is the ONLY Answer

It does not matter which province or territory you live in here in Canada, generally everyone wants the three levels of government to spend more money on education.

We want the taxes we already pay to start going to education instead of going to other programs like foreign workers programs and political retirement benefits.

We are not interested in extra taxes to help families educate children, but we want better and faster care in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. The government is not thinking long term; what will benefit Canadian children long term? Those children from all walks of life.

With the shortage of health care professionals, I cannot imagine what the care is going to be like within the next 20 years, but bringing foreigners in is not the answer. However, educating our children is the only answer that makes any sense at all.

Shortages in these important fields create patient waiting lists, travelling issues and long waits in emergency rooms.

What is causing these shortages? The cost of our education does, plain and simple. We see more people going into trades where schooling is minimal or into careers where money is made to pay off student loans that were taken out to become those all important professionals, but could not find work immediately in their field, many teachers have had this problem starting out.

Instead of looking at how much it is going to cost to educate our doctors and educators here in Canada now, how about we look at what it will cost us down the line.

Hard working people do not want hand outs we want to have the chance at educating ourselves and our children without going into debt for many years.

We want the chance to start our career without having to fight for a job with a foreigner who was only here because the government chose to bring them here instead of putting Canadian education first, making colleges and universities lower the tuition's and cost of the text books…who pays $300 for a text book?

Help educate all future health-care professionals, trades people, teachers, and even political hopefuls, we need to promote education and make it attainable for all adults and children here in Canada BEFORE looking outside the country for our professionals.
